Valor Christian High School is new a college preparatory school comprised of a three-story, 90,070 SF Academics Building and two-story, 62,284 SF Athletics Complex on a 35-acre campus. The school’s owner placed a high priority on designing an environmentally responsible campus for the state’s first LEED-registered (and now LEED-Gold-certified) private high school. To achieve this goal, a number of creative strategies were implemented to significantly reduce energy use including thermal displacement ventilation to condition most of the school’s interior spaces and daylight harvesting to bring plenty of high-quality natural light into the facilities.
