To facilitate minimally invasive surgeries for patients, a new interventional hybrid operating room was recently constructed on the second floor of Penrose Hospital. The new operating room is equipped with advanced medical imaging devices to allow surgeons to visualize and access smaller body parts in a way that is less traumatic for patients than traditional surgical measures. As the project’s mechanical/electrical engineer, The RMH Group designed HVAC, plumbing, normal and emergency power, and lighting systems to support the new interventional hybrid operating room, control room, and supporting devices such as new diagnostic equipment, medical equipment booms, and surgery systems integration equipment.
