The RMH Group has maintained its offices at the Golden Hill Office Center since the three-building, 209,000 SF facility’s construction in 1983. RMH was the facility’s original mechanical/electrical engineer and, more recently, served as Golden Hill’s LEED for Existing Buildings (LEED-EB) consultant. As the LEED-EB consultant, RMH was responsible for developing LEED goals, facilitating meetings, providing technical guidance, and coordinating LEED documentation. Golden Hill recently attained LEED-EB Silver certification. The RMH Group also provided design to integrate three roof-mounted 10 kW photovoltaic arrays into the facility’s existing electrical system. In addition to design, RMH served as the owner’s representative and pursued rebates and incentives that reduced capital costs for the arrays by 64%. Internet users can observe current and historical performance data of the photovoltaic arrays. RMH has been involved with a variety of other recent sustainable design upgrades to Golden Hill including:
    • Replacement of pneumatic controls with Honeywell Tritium DDC building automation controls with energy dashboard
    • Re-piping of the cooling towers, new indirect cooling coil, and new pump to lower pumping horsepower and to increase cooling capacity
    • Replacement of five existing boilers with one 95%-efficient condensing boiler and two supplemental non-condensing boilers (87% efficient) with stand-alone boiler controller
    • Replacement of two heating water pumps with more efficient pumps and motors
    • Upgrade/replacement of VAV box controls and actuators in Building A with new digital controls and electric actuators
    • Low-flow plumbing fixtures (water closets, urinals, lavatory faucets, showers)
    • New temperature sensors with occupant adjustment
    • Replacement of all controls valves with electric valves
    • LED lighting in suites A-300 and A-400 (RMH’s offices) with N-Light controls and sonar-based occupancy sensors
    • Electric vehicle charging station
    • Power monitoring for office suites A-300 and A-400 (RMH’s offices)
