    Centennial Correctional Facility, South Tower (CSP II) is a new high-custody prison expansion with three 320-bed housing pods and a central connecting structure containing administrative and support space. The RMH Group served as the project’s energy modeling consultant and mechanical/electrical engineer. To produce the energy simulation, RMH staff modified the code-mandated base-case model to reflect the proposed building design featuring direct evaporative cooling and more efficient boilers and chillers. RMH’s energy model considered such critical variables as occupancy and operating statistics, site elevation and latitude, and historic climate conditions. The modeling revealed a 22.2% reduction in energy consumption for the proposed design as compared to the base-case model.
