The new 125-acre Sandstone Ranch Community Park is situated on land that was first homesteaded by Morse Coffin, a St. Vrain Valley pioneer in 1860. Serving as a community park and district park/nature preserve, Sandstone Ranch offers abundant resources for recreation and environmental conservation. The park was developed over three phases to date with plans for a fourth phase in the works. The RMH Group was closely involved with electrical infrastructure and lighting for the second and third phases. Phase 2, totaling 53 acres, featured multi-use sports fields (two of which were lighted for evening play), a concessions/picnic area, a maintenance facility, a playground, pedestrian areas, and parking. Phase 3, totaling 23 acres, included an in-ground skatepark (including lighting for evening use), a children’s adventure playground, group picnic shelter with adjacent playground/volleyball, a bridge, pedestrian areas, and parking.
