The new 101,000 SF headquarters of Zimmer Biomet’s Spinal division consolidates the research and development, marketing, and administrative functions of three recently merged firms into one new cutting-edge facility. The new headquarters—located in a former call center in Westminster’s Westmoor office park—features high-end office space and labs to research new robotic tools and orthopedic medical devices that will enable minimally invasive spinal surgery. Within the facility’s simulation rooms, implants are tested in simulated spines by machines that mimic the forces of sitting, standing, walking, and lifting.
RMH served as the project’s mechanical/electrical engineer responsible for providing flexible, robust HVAC and power systems to support Zimmer Biomet Spine’s manufacturing and testing equipment as it is reconfigured in the future. RMH also designed the facility’s energy-efficient and highly functional lighting systems.
