The Los Angeles Broadcast Center (LABC) is one of two broadcast facilities responsible for distributing DIRECTV digital programming to customers around the world. Programming received at the LABC is digitized, compressed, encrypted, transmitted to several satellites located in geostationary orbit, and then delivered to individual users. RMH has been closely involved with the LABC since its inception, when the facility was converted from a vacant 196,000 SF, two-building warehouse complex to finished office, technical, and support space. Over the years, RMH has assisted with numerous upgrades to accommodate increased levels of content and new technologies such as high-definition programming, as well as to optimize system performance and reliability.
