  • RMH President Bill Green, along with John Offen (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers), JJ Tang (HDR), and Clay Benson (Mortenson Construction), presented at the Design-Build Conference and Expo, in November 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their talk, entitled “Pushing Net-Zero-Energy-Ready Design and Construction for a Military Barracks,” was focused on the $94.9-million, net-zero-energy-ready barracks complex at Fort Carson, Colorado. The complex has set the standard for world-class energy efficiency, functionality and comfort for military personnel and is contributing to Fort Carson’s goal of becoming a net-zero-energy military complex.
  • On October 12, 2016, RMH President Bill Green and RMH project manager Michelle Swanson, along with Matt Bartels from Bennett Wagner Grody Architects, conducted a tour of the GSA Byron G. Rogers Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in Denver as part of the NBI (New Buildings Institute) Getting to Zero National Forum. RMH and Bennett Wagner Grody Architects were key designers for the renovations of these two buildings. The renovation projects balanced historic preservation with the use of innovative, cutting-edge technologies that resulted in significant energy use savings. • The RMH Group staff had the opportunity to hear Tricia Downing, competitive road and track cyclist and lifelong athlete. Her inspirational story of triumph over tragedy was not only remarkable from a human-interest standpoint, but also practical from a business perspective regarding the mindset and attitude necessary to accomplish big goals.
