Four of RMH’s projects were recognized among the winners of the 2012 Engineering News-Record (ENR) Mountain States Best Projects competition. More than 100 entries were considered for the regional competition. RMH projects won awards in the following categories:
- Sports/Entertainment: Toyota Elephant Passage, Denver Zoo (Best Project Category Winner and Special Judges’ Recognition as one of three Best Overall Regional Project finalists). RMH subcontracted to CLR Design, from Philadelphia, Penn., to provide mechanical and electrical engineering and energy modeling for the new 10-acre, LEED Platinum-certified exhibit.
- Green Project: NCAR-Wyoming Supercomputing Center (NWSC), University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (Best Project Category Winner). RMH subcontracted to H+L Architecture to provide mechanical and electrical design for this LEED Gold-certified facility.
- Government/Public Buildings: Fort Carson Warrior Transition Barracks, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District (Award of Merit). RMH subcontracted to Heating & Plumbing Engineers to provide mechanical design and energy modeling for this LEED Gold-certified barracks.
- Landscape/Hardscape/Urban Development: Centennial Center Park, City of Centennial (Award of Merit); submitted by Turner Construction Co. RMH subcontracted to Design Concepts to provide lighting design for the new park.
